The name Regina Lovings should be added to our Memorial Page.
For many of us who live in the Bay Area, we followed the story
of her disappearance of over a week and then learned that her
body was found in the basement of her house on Alcatraz Avenue
in North Oakland. She worked at Kaiser Oakland and was well loved
and respected. We will all miss Regina.

The wings of love communicate, the butterfly, a short lived
fate But O what love did generate the beauty of this flight. On
our path we walk alone, the years float by, were did we go? And
was it love that made us grow? for time waits for non not one
of all. And than. The path of light appears. This hand of love
was allways here. The time we spent was so unclear (time cheeted
us this way) So I take this Hand of Bright Shinning Love. and
it guides me to a place above where the fields are filled with
time and butterfly's abound...

What an interesting trip down memory lane--and
how nice to see so many familar names. I promised James Reeves
I'd contribute my info, so here it is in a nutshell: After juggling
a day job and a career as an artist after Cal, I went back to
grad school and got a Ph.D. in Art History. I'm now on the faculty
at Santa Clara University in the Department of Art and Art History.
SCU is right next door to San Jose and it is nice to be back in
the Bay Area after living in Los Angeles for so many years. My
companion of the last 18 (!) years is an architect with his own
practice--still located in LA--so we trade off weekends in Northern
and Southern California. I hope people keep contributing to this
site, and Kudos to James for providing us with a place to meet
in cyberspace. Finally, Phil Wright, if you are out there, drop
me a line. --Andrea

It's 11 days past the reunion and I continue to think about
it with a smile and a laugh. I asked my brother if he had a good
time and he said, "the best part was watching you and Susan
revert back to the giddy highschool girls you once were".
I don't remember feeling giddy but I do remember the rush of memories,
the excitement of seeing everyone and knowing I was smiling from
ear to ear. Thanks to the committee for all the hard work and
efforts. It was a fabulous evening, I enjoyed spending part of
it with Mr. and Mrs. Parker. It made it extra special with them
joining us. Sitting at their table, I was able to see people I
may have missed and meet people I had never met in highschool.
I am looking forward to helping with the 25th and seeing everyone
again. We have a terrific class.

does change people. Wow! If anyone wants to stay in touch just
come by my store in Alameda. It's a great place to hang out on
the weekend and get pastries and coffee and then go for a bike
ride or walk along the waterfront. The name of my business is

How the years just melted away and everything seemed so deja'vu
if only for a few short days (or was it just a few short hours?).
The reconnections made with dear old friends, some lost for all
these twenty years but not to be lost again. Thanks James, for
making this event so hands-on and personal with this heartfelt
web page (can't wait for the pics to show up!)...Hey Heidi, thanks
for looking me up and making the trek back to Berkeley, bringing
Gordy, Barb, Lori and Marg back too... the true highlight of this
wonderful reunion!...Warren, my oldest friend, singlehandedly
resposible for bringing me to BHS in the first place, still the
same after all these years (thank goodness!)...Looking forward
already to the 25th, how about we all redouble our efforts to
bring the rest of the lost gang (John Heller?, Dan Shugrue?, George
Doherty?)...better yet let's just crash the 1978 reunion...we'll
probably find them there anyway! Well as we used to say on the

Those who missed the reunion must be wondering
if it was really that great. You know how many people like to
exaggerate? Well like anything else in life it wasn,t perfect!
In fact neither was the picnic! Who am I kidding? If you really
want to know what it was like you had to be there and if you were
you would have found that it was truly a great event!!! The only
thing that kept it from being perfect were those we missed who
didn,t show up. Don,t miss the 25th!!!

To view twenty-four years in one's life in a few short hours,
surounded by the new faces of old hearts, trying to say hi to all,not
knowing who is missing, hidden or lost-who wrote the rules here?
Wonderful is an understatement and fantastic is a downplay! Words
will not work here, just hearts. I send to all of you my love for
yoiu have passed the test of time, grown from rags to riches,
polished in all the right places, It meant so much to see all
your smiling faces. Remember this is the first day of the rest

I don't know where to begin? So many wonderful things happened
for me at the reunion! Seeing so many old friends, so many old
memories; and then to see how everyone has matured so much! What
a different experience from the 10th reunion and also from high
school. There was such a wonderful feeling of everyone coming
together without a care in the world for what profession you were
in or where you lived or what economic strata you fit into......there
was such of feeling of larger community and family. It was wonderful.
Of course, there were so many people that I didn't have a chance
to talk to at any length, but that gives me more incentive to
get back in touch with them now. Thank you, to everyone, who came
and enjoyed the evening with all of us. It was truly worth every
minute we put into organizing it. Thank you for providing such
a warm, safe atmosphere, to be honest and open during my presentation.
It is always easy to tell the truth when you speak from the heart!
And a very special thanks to James Reeves, who has provided this
web site for all of us to keep in touch. Without James.......the
20th reunion would have been a whole lot different for many of
us! Thanks. And to everyone else, keep writing in!

Hi all, just wanted to say that I really enjoyed myself at
the reunion. It was great to see all of my old classmates(no pun
intended). It made me feel very proud when a variety of professions
were read off that some of us were presently holding. It also
put things into perspective when Michelle gave the message that
no matter what lifestyle, profession, condition, or esteem problems
individuals were having that should not be a reason of not attending
the reunion, because that isn't what it was about. This was a
very true statement. In passing, I would run into a few fellow
classmates that had these very same comments and felt that because
of these reasons they were not going to attend. I can only say
to them now, YOU MISSED A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EVENT!!! To James,
I want to gave a BIG THANKS!! This site is just great. To the
reunion committee members, Did We MAKE SUCCESS HAPPEN Or What????
All of those early Saturday morning mtgs. and online chat mtgs.
DID payoff!!! To Marcus, those t-shirts were a knock-out(get-it??)!!!
Last of all, I want to thank the spouses of the reunion committee.
This is for all of the patience that you had during our crashing
of your homes : · )) Let's all keep in touch. Who knows,
maybe we will have a TEENS of THE 70's dance in the future!!!

At the party I had several conversations that
went like this, (leaning over, squinting at name tag) "Joe/Jane
Smith! I remember you!" - "Hi, Scott... I remember you..."
- Weren't we in Mr. Jones history class together?" - "Didn't
take his class." - "King Jr. High?" - "I went
to Willard" - "Hmmm..." Well, after one of these
conversations with CARLA ARNOLD, and some head-scratching and
year-book checking, I've figured out that we met freshman year
at university (the one with palm trees and red tile roofs). There
were only a handful of BHS grads in that class. -- Scott

Here we are the day after, and I would like
to thank all of you who braved it enough to show up. After being
completely out of touch for 20 years, it was a wonderful experience
to see people and renew friendships. Prior to attending, I had
honestly felt that it was not important that I attend, and that
those years ago meant nothing in my current life. After the last
two days, I feel that attending was a transcendental experiece.
This will sound completely cliche, but that's ok: renewing these
friendships allowed me to feel part of a larger community, of
course brought the proverbial "closure" home to many
old friendships, and also made me feel very happy and proud to
see how everyone (including myself) has not only matured, but
is a success in their own way. Thanks again, and I'll definately
attend for number 25!
